Today our new community reached an important milestone with the formal launch of our beta website and official Press Release.
That’s not all. Just yesterday we published an ‘Opinion Piece’ on The Stack “Has the status quo of IT consultancy come to an end?” to give our view on the disruptive nature of emerging community models.
If you are after the 2 minute run-down on “WhatMatrix – What are we about …?” see this video featuring Scott D. Lowe from our friends at ActualTech Media.
Additionally, for a glimpse into the real-life experience of one of our community members don’t miss THIS article published by our category consultant Herman Rutten at “Innovation in IT” ลิงค์.
Update(17/12): Also CRN picked up on our disruptive model and published the article “Crowdsourced consultancy’ comes to the channel” – read it here.
What’s else is New:
- Comparisons:
- We have successfully launched 3 new comparisons (Software Defined Storage & Hyper-converged, Cloud Storage Gateways and Backup in Virtual Environments – in addition to the expanded Virtualization comparison)
- We have another 4 (!) new categories in the pipeline that we are VERY excited about
(Cloud Management Platforms, Disaster Recovery Solutions, End User Computing and GPUs) in addition to a few (very recently) submitted proposals that we are planning to on-board over the next weeks as well.
- Platform:
- Too much to cover in all detail but we have improved our capabilities significantly since the initial release in April and focussed on further improving user experience with this release.
- Export & Print evaluation reports
- New Hopscotch-based Help Framework
- Site Tour
- Guided Activities (select from frequent tasks)
- Improvements to Add-On Framework (Stackbuilder)
- As we are continuously adding new functionality we will maintain the beta status on the site for now – please continue to provide feedback that allows us to further improve the platform!

Just one thing left: “Thank You” to all of our community members and affiliates, especially our distinct category and vendor consultants! You Are WhatMatrix!
