CMP Landscape Report 2019 announced
When referring to accelerated change, people often talk of dog years or Internet time. The latter is particularly apt to modern life, where the half-life of technology can be amazingly short. Simply put, information that
isn’t kept current quickly becomes irrelevant.
At WhatMatrix, we recognize the need to continually maintain our categories and products. And so we’re pleased to announce the latest update to our Cloud Management Platform (CMP) comparison. Major changes include the addition of two new vendors as well as a new major version of an existing product.
This increases the total number of vendors from seven to nine, and it gives WhatMatrix users more information when making upcoming technology choices. Here are the highlights.

Our initial publication of the CMP category met with considerable interest, both from IT professionals and industry analysts. It also caught the attention of other CMP vendors. The latest update includes two new products, each with unique capabilities. Here are brief descriptions, in the respective vendor’s own words. Platform9 Systems (www.platform9.com) – Platform9 is a private cloud company whose SaaS platform transforms an organization’s existing infrastructure into an OpenStack based agile, self-service private cloud within minutes. Platform9 offers the simplicity of AWS-like public clouds with complete ownership of all resources and data and is the first 100% cloud managed platform for Docker, KVM and VMware vSphere. Founded in 2013 by a team of early VMware engineers, Platform9 is headquartered in Sunnyvale, CA. Morpheus Data (www.morpheusdata.com) – Morpheus offers today’s tech leaders capabilities they never thought possible: instant one-click application provisioning, fast and simple database management, easy workload migration, automatic monitoring, logging and backups, dynamic admin management, and much more. These features serve to help eliminate Shadow IT, unlock cloud portability and greatly simplify and secure the DevOps function. Morpheus is the most comprehensive DevOps platform in the market today.
Product Update
CloudBolt Software (www.cloudbolt.io) – Along with new products, one of our original members has released a new major version of their software. With version 6.1, CloudBolt now supports both cloud bursting and automatic capacity management via scaling blueprints.
