Azure Site Recovery (ASR) provides the option to use a different IP address range for the replicated Azure VM network. In this scenario the VM gets a new IP address after failover, and a DNS update is required.

UR40 introduces support for static IP settings during a Test Failover. Earlier, when end-users performed test failover on to actual DR network, the original IP was not used to ensure that the IP was available for an actual DR. However, because end-users want to retrieve the same IP address during a DR drill to validate networking settings, end-users are now allowed to pick static IPs during a Test Failover.
