Hybrid solutions based on Flash + HDD):
- Flash is the Read/Write cache;
- HDD is the persistent storage layer.
All-flash solutions based on NVMe + SSD:
- NVMe is Write Cache only;
- SSD is the persistent storage layer.
When using only SSD or only NVMe in an all-flash solution, caching can be disabled.
