AOS Community Edition (CE) is freely downloadble after registering online and offers limited platform support (Acopolis Hypervisor = AHV) and scalability (4 nodes). AOS CE can be installed on all commodity hardware platforms that meet the hardware requirements. AOS CE use is not time-restricted. AOS CE is not for production environments.

A small running setup of AOS Community Edition (CE) can also be accessed instantly in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) by registering at nutanix.com/test-drive-hyperconverged-infrastructure. The Test Drive is limited to 2 hours.

Ravellos Smart Labs on AWS/GCE provides nested virtualization and offers a blueprint to run AOS CE in the public cloud. Using Ravello Smart Labs requires a subscription.

Nutanix also offers instant online access to live demo environments for partners to educate/show their customers.

Nutanix Xi Services include a Free Plan that provides a free trial for 60 days. At the end of the 60-day trail end-user organisations can choose to switcg to a Paid Plan, or choose to decide later. A Free Plan includes either DR for 100 VMs (100GB each) or running VMs (2vCPU, 4GB RAM each), and includes profesional support.
