Depending on the hardware model Nutanix by default includes 1GbE or 10GbE network adapters and one or more of the following network add-ons: dual-port 1 GbE, dual-port 10 GbE, dual-port 10 GBase-T, quad-port 10 GbE, dual-port 25 GbE, dual-port 40GbE.
AOS 5.9 introduces support for Remote Direcy Memory Access (RDMA) support. RDMA provides a node with direct access to the memory subsystems of other nodes in the cluster, without needing the CPU-bounded network stack of the operating system. RDMA allows low-latency data transfer between memory subsystems, and so helps to improve network latency and lower CPU use.
With two RDMA-enabled NICs per node installed, the following platforms support RDMA:
- NX-3060-G6
- NX-3155G-G6
- NX-3170-G6
- NX-8035-G6
- NX-8155-G6
RDMA is not supported for the NX-1065-G6 platform as this platform includes only one NIC per node.
