Nutanix supports NVMe drives in: Nutanix Community Edition (NCE), NX-3060-G6, NX-3170-G6, NX-8035-G6 and NX-8155-G6, as well as respective OEM models.

AOS 5.17 introduced All-NVMe drive support.

AOS 5.18 introduces Nutanix Blockstore that streamlines the I/O stack, taking the file system out of the equation altogether. With Blockstore Nutanix ECP effectively bypasses the OS (=Linux) kernel context switches and thus manages to accelerate AOS storage processing. Leveraging Nutanix Blockstore together with NVMe/Optane storage media delivers significant IOPS and latency improvements with no changes to the applications.
