Nutanix has published Reference Architecture whitepapers for VMware Horizon and Citrix XenDesktop platforms.
Nutanix Acropolis Hypervisor (AHV) is qualified as Citrix Ready. The Citrix Ready Program showcases verified products that are trusted to enhance Citrix solutions for mobility, virtualization, networking and cloud platforms. The Citrix Ready designation is awarded to third-party partners that have successfully met test criteria set by Citrix, and gives customers added confidence in the compatibility of the joint solution offering.
Nutanix qualifies as a Citrix Workspace Appliance: Nutanix and Citrix have worked side-by-side to automate the provisioning and integration of the entire Citrix stack from cloud service to on-premises applications and desktops. Nutanix Prism automatically provisions Citrix Cloud Connectors VMs for instantly connecting the on-premises Nutanix cluster to the XenApp and XenDesktop Service, and registers all nodes in the Nutanix cluster as a XenApp and XenDesktop Service Resource Location.
Parallels Remote Application Server (RAS) is a Nutanix-ready desktop virtualization solution. A Parallels RAS and Nutanix on VMWare reference architecture white paper was published in july 2016.
In May 2019 Nutanix introduced Xi Frame as a new option to use Frame Desktop-as-a-Service (DaaS) with apps, desktops, and user data hosted on Nutanix on-premises infrastructure. Xi Frame only supports the Nutanix AHV hypervisor with AOS 5.10 or later. At this time Windows 10, Windows Server 2016 and Windows Server 2019 guest OS are supported. Linux support (Ubuntu, CentOS) will be added in the second half of 2019.
