(No major change in SC2019)In VMM 2012 R2 host profiles are replaced by physical computer profiles. You can use physical computer profiles in the same manner that you used host profiles to provision a bare-metal computer to a Hyper-V host. In addition, you can use physical computer profiles to provision a bare-metal computer as a Windows Scale-Out File Server cluster
The physical computer profile is used to specify host settings during a bare-metal deployment. It contains configuration settings such as the location of the operating system image to use during host deployment, together with hardware and operating system configuration settings (management NIC, IP configuration, boot disk settings, drivers, domain, admin password, product key, time zone and scripts).
The physical computer profile can however not be used to check and update compliance of hosts after the initial deployment so has less functionality than e.g. VMwares Host Profiles.
In VMM 2016, we are able to deploy Storage Spaces Direct cluster from VMM. You can deploy disaggregated and hyperconverged solution on physical host from VMM 2016
