(no major updates with WS 2016) Support for Jumbo frames has been added with 2008 R2 and is maintained with Server 2012 and 2012 R2.

These are the basic steps to enable Jumbo frames in Server 2012 for you virtual machines:
- Networking hardware must support jumbo packets and the feature must be enabled
- Hyper-V virtual switch must have jumbo frames enabled
- The individual virtual NICs must have jumbo frames enabled
